MindFlow is an Oregon 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization developing
Gold Terra — a living farm and learning campus where land, people, knowledge, and future generations grow together.

We are looking for more than acreage. We are looking for a LAND PARTNER.

Gold Terra brings together sustainable agriculture, food independence, practical education, beginning farmers and entrepreneurs, children and families, nature, and community.

We are especially interested in working with farmers and landowners who care about the long-term future of their land. This may include owners who have acreage they no longer fully use, farmers whose children have chosen a different path, or people who want their land and knowledge to continue benefiting future generations.

We are open to several forms of partnership: long-term land access, partnership, donation of a portion of a property, or donation of a farm or property with an arrangement that allows the owner to continue living on and participating in the land.

For us, an experienced landowner is not simply someone providing acreage.
They can remain part of the story — as a partner, mentor, knowledge holder, and founder of what grows there next.

Our goal is simple: keep good land alive, preserve the knowledge connected to it, and give new generations a place to learn how to grow food, build something of their own, care for the land, and care for one another.

What We’re Looking For

We are flexible.

Agricultural or rural land within practical reach of the Portland metro area is preferred. Water access is important. Electricity and existing farm infrastructure are helpful but not required in every situation.

We are open to properties of different sizes, including situations where the owner continues living on the property and only a portion of the land becomes part of Gold Terra.

Most important to us is finding the right land and the right relationship with the landowner.

Our Farming Experience

Our community brings decades of practical experience with growing food, gardening, food preservation, cooking, and small-scale agriculture.

Many members of our community come from Ukraine and Eastern Europe, where growing food, preserving harvests, and sharing agricultural knowledge across generations have long been part of everyday life.

Gold Terra also brings experienced farmers together with beginning farmers and entrepreneurs. One of our goals is to make sure valuable agricultural knowledge is not lost when a farmer retires or the next generation chooses another profession.

We believe experience should be passed from hands to hands, not only from books to people.

Our Short-Term Goals

Our first goal is to listen to the land and the landowner before deciding what should be built.

Together we will identify what already works, what should be preserved, and what can gradually be added.

Early activities may include food-growing areas, demonstration gardens, native and pollinator habitat, beginning-farmer projects, practical workshops, children and family programs, entrepreneurship education, community gatherings, and opportunities for experienced farmers to share their knowledge.

Rather than arriving with a fixed development plan, we want Gold Terra to grow from the character and history of the property itself.

Our Long-Term Vision

Our long-term goal is to create a living campus for real life — a place where agriculture, practical education, entrepreneurship, nature, food independence, community, and generations come together.

We want children to learn where food comes from. Beginning farmers to have land where they can learn by doing. Entrepreneurs to test ideas. Experienced farmers to pass on knowledge that took a lifetime to acquire. Families to reconnect with land and nature.

And we want the people who made the land what it is today to remain part of its story.

Over time, Gold Terra can become a model that other communities can adapt — showing that farmland does not have to disappear when one generation stops farming.

Land can have a next chapter without losing its previous one.

Housing & Living Arrangements

We are flexible and will discuss housing and infrastructure individually with each landowner.

We are especially open to partnerships where the current owner wishes to continue living on the property.

Gold Terra is not based on removing people from their land.
Whenever appropriate, we want the people who know and love the land to remain connected to it.

Any future housing, educational, agricultural, or other infrastructure would be developed only through appropriate agreements, planning, permitting, and available resources.

A Safe and Welcoming Community

Respect comes first — respect for people, land, history, privacy, and agreements.

We believe a strong community is built through clear communication, reliability, personal responsibility, safety, and mutual care.

The landowner is not simply a landlord to us. We see the landowner as a potential partner and knowledge holder whose experience and wishes deserve to be heard.

Gold Terra is designed to bring generations together — children and adults, beginning and experienced farmers, newcomers and longtime Oregonians — in an environment where people learn from one another and contribute what they know.

Our goal is not simply to use land.

Our goal is to care for it, learn from it, and leave it stronger for the people who come next.
