What will you do if a power outage or another unexpected disruption leaves you without your usual kitchen? Ready, Set, Cook helps Gresham families prepare by practicing how to make nourishing meals with portable cooking equipment and simple ingredients.Cook
In five free, hands-on workshops, participants learn to use a portable stove safely, prepare meals with limited supplies, reduce food waste, and find local food resources. Participating households receive an emergency cooking kit and practice with it during a workshop.

Go-Ready
The program prioritizes low-income and immigrant families, parents with children, and residents without reliable access to a full kitchen. Workshops will take place at approved community locations. Parks are preferred when activities are permitted and the weather is suitable; approved indoor spaces can be used when needed.
